Qualifying – going into qualifying I had very high hopes of securing pole due to carrying no success ballast, which we then exceeded in our first pole of the year with a time of 1.38.805
Race 1 – got a great start on the restart after the red flag and was able to break away from the pack by the time I exited druids as they were all battling for position, I was able to get a clear gap for the remainder of the race and kept it at a comfortable distance as well as insuring the well being of my tyres to save them for race 2, we brought the car home in p1 which was a fantastic result for myself and my new sponsors wrightsure insurance group.
Race 2 – reverse grid put me starting 7th for race 2 we didn’t get the best start dropping down to 9th by the first corner, I then got into my rhythm and start to gain places lap by lap, I made my way up to 4th and was battling for a podium position where I broke a bit to late into paddock hill bend and run wide which dropped me down to 5th and a few seconds back from the leaders, with only a couple of laps to go I pushed to my limit to get back on terms with the top four, on the last lap I made a bid for 4th at paddock hill and ended up lining myself up for the inside line at druids for third! We made the move stick and held on to the flag for the final podium position.
We had a great weekend at brands being the highest points scorer and closed the gap on the championship.
Huge thank You to Wrightsure Insurance group for coming down and supporting me.
