Nic Hamilton: I am buzzing after the weekends results and getting my first points in the BTCC. It’s a massive achievement for me, especially to do it with Team HARD. Racing which is a new team and car for me to get to grips with. The car is new for me this season and at times has been difficult to understand and to get my head around, it has required some patience but going off of last weekend we have made huge steps with developments and general improvements across the board.
I would say that I wanted a bit more race pace but it’s only the second race weekend of the season and there is much more to come, so to get my first points in the UK’s premier race series so soon is a massive bonus for me and the team.
I’ve hit a personal milestone this weekend and I am determined to continue pushing for the rest of the year to keep improving and move further and further up the grid!
Tony Gilham: What a performance by Nic this weekend! He appeared a little unsettled last week at Donington but has come back with a bang at Brands Hatch. Nic is gaining confidence in the car with every session and this has been proven with a string of strong results including two career high finishes and his first BTCC points of his career.
We are really happy with Nic’s progression in the Volkswagen CC and he has fitted into the team well. He’s working well with Ollie and Jack in improving the car and his feedback is invaluable to our progression up the field this season.
I’m looking forward to seeing how he gets on in a couple of week’s time as the BTCC circus moves to Oulton Park.
